Sandra Whyte Boots & All (Upsized Mounted Canvas Print)

The artist was learning to speak the language of Māori and connecting that with her past. Her Scottish heritage with a link via her beloved Grandmother to local Māori. The Scottish thistle thrives in the soil which holds the treasured pounamu. The beautiful tūī still fly as they did long before the link was formed.

Sandra Whyte works as a full time Fine Artist in Whangarei, creating realistic paintings in oil paint. The paintings, often in the form of landscape and wildlife reflect her love of our wilderness. Her native, endemic and common bird paintings are loved by both locals and tourists alike.  

She enjoys the art of giving and likes to create paintings for conservation groups to raise money and awareness of the beauty and vulnerability of our country's treasures.
