Kingfishers at Dusk by Hannah Shand

This limited edition artwork captures of a pair of kōtare / sacred kingfishers sitting quietly. Hannah Shand is passionate about Aotearoa's native birds and drawing, which produces these realistic and timeless artworks created using black fine-tip pens. She portrays precious moments captured during her exploration of sanctuaries and predator-free islands, showing each bird's individual character. Each artwork takes four to sixteen weeks to research, photograph, compose and draw. Kōtare are often seen near the streams around Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari.

Hannah actively works with conservation groups and bird sanctuaries to fundraise and spread awareness of their crucial work.

The prints use high quality archival paper, ink and processes.
